In real life, I am a humble (underpaid)
medical resident who pines for more sleep/vacation time. I'm pleased
to say I run Shejidan with the attentive care, gentle hand, and loving
attitude inherent in any fascist dictator. I can frequently be found
at the Shejidan message boards, posting deep philosophical threads that
make the regular posters ponder life in a way heretofore unknown to them.

Working as a Registered Jeweler/almost
Gemologist, in a fine jewelry store in SC, married for the second (and
hopefully last) time, with an eleven-going-on-eighteen year old daughter,
who is so gorgeous and smart and funny already, that I stay up nights worrying
about beating boys off/keeping her education on track/staying close and
raising her right.
Hardly ever serious for long, and
I love doing anything fun. I crave excitement but the most I get

I'm a lawyer, 56. Divorced and female
(as the name Susan may suggest). No kids, 2 nephews. I was born and brought
up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and have lived heremost of my life.
Before the law, I got a Ph.D. in English history, useful mostly for wrapping
fish. Nowadays I enjoy the work I do very much, but I don't love the law
the way I loved (and still love) history. I've been utterly addicted to
reading ever since they showed me the trick. Started reading science fiction
when I was 7 or so - Heinlein in the children's room. I've been reading
and thinking about Cherryh since the late 70's (some people fantasize about
sex, I fantasize about Ph.D. dissertations on Cherryh). Somebody - the
novelist Amy Tan, I think - once spoke of having a "life in books." That
sounds fine to me. |
